Rahu is not physical planet, it is the intersection of ascending node of lunar orbit(Orbit of moon) with the elliptic plane(orbit of earth). It is also called north lunar node. Rahu is responsible for the Solar eclipse. Rahu don’t have its own sign but it is considered exalted in Gemini and debilitated in Sagittarius. its stone is Gomed. The Mahadasha period of Rahu is 18 years. Rahu is lord of Ardra (6), Swati (15) and Shatabhisha (24) Nakshatras. Rahu represent sudden gain or sudden loss. It signifies unending desires, attachments, greed, spreading diseases. It moves always in retrograde motion and take around 1.5 years to cross one sign, completing its full cycle in about 18 years.
