Jupiter or Brihaspati is slow moving planet and represents knowledge and wisdom. Its color is yellow and stone is yellow sapphire. Sagittarius and Pisces are its own signs. It is exalted in Cancer and debilitated in Capricorn. Jupiter is lord of Punarvasu(7), Vishakha(16) and Purva Bhadrapada(25) Nakshatras. It take around one year to cross one sign. Jupiter is associated with wisdom, knowledge, spirituality, and prosperity. It takes approximately 12 years to complete its transit through all zodiac signs.
Jupiter signifies knowledge (Vidya), wealth, morality, and dharma (righteousness). It is the karaka (significator) of education, children, higher learning, and prosperity. Jupiter is the largest and most benefic planet in Vedic astrology, known as the "teacher" of the zodiac. It governs higher education, philosophy, and expansive growth. It represents the ability to see the bigger picture, show generosity, and maintain optimism.
A strong and well-placed Jupiter in a horoscope enhances wisdom, prosperity, and spiritual understanding. Such individuals are likely to excel in academics, display moral integrity, and attract wealth and good fortune. A strong Jupiter also brings harmonious relationships, especially in marriage, and supports success in teaching, law, finance, or spiritual professions. It fosters generosity, leadership, and the ability to inspire others.
If Jupiter is weak or afflicted, it can lead to a lack of direction, financial instability, or moral confusion. Individuals may face challenges in education, delays in marriage, or struggles in having children. A weak Jupiter can also manifest as overindulgence, laziness, or impracticality. It may result in poor decision-making, lack of spiritual growth, or difficulties in maintaining wealth and relationships.
