Transit of Ketu

Ketu is also not a physical planet like Rahu, it is the intersection of descending node of lunar orbit(Orbit of moon) with the elliptic plane(orbit of earth). It is also called south lunar node. Ketu is responsible for the lunar eclipse. Ketu don’t have its own sign but it is considered exalted in Sagittarius and debilitated in Gemini. Its stone is Cats-eye (Lehsunia). The Mahadasha period of Ketu is 7 years. Ketu is lord of Ashwini (1), Magha (10) and Mula (19) Nakshatras. Ketu signifies detachment, less desires, moksha, easily satisfied person. It moves always in retrograde motion and take around 1.5 years to cross one sign and completes its transit cycle in about 18 years. Ketu in Indian Vedic Astrology is a shadow planet that symbolizes detachment, spirituality, and liberation.

Ketu represents moksha (liberation), renunciation, and the karmic lessons of past lives. Unlike Rahu, which signifies worldly desires, Ketu reflects the opposite—spiritual enlightenment and disconnection from materialism. In Hindu mythology, Ketu is depicted as the severed body of the demon Svarbhanu, representing a headless entity that embodies intuition, past-life knowledge, and mysticism. A strong and well-placed Ketu bestows wisdom, psychic abilities, and spiritual depth, while a weak or afflicted Ketu may lead to confusion, detachment without purpose, and spiritual restlessness.

When Ketu is strong and well-placed, it brings spiritual enlightenment, deep intuition, and a sense of purpose. It endows individuals with a unique ability to analyze situations from a higher perspective. A strong Ketu can lead to mastery in yoga, meditation, astrology, or healing practices. It also promotes humility, self-realization, and success in fields that involve research, teaching, or spiritual practices.

A weak or afflicted Ketu may cause confusion, aimlessness, or feelings of isolation. It can result in psychological issues, mistrust, or detachment that lacks direction. People with a weak Ketu may face health issues related to the nervous system, lack of focus, or fears stemming from the unknown. It can also lead to abrupt endings in relationships or ventures, unexplained fears, or mental instability.
