Planet Transit
Transit of all the planets including details of rashi, degree, vakri, udaya/asta and planet relation with rashi
Planet Transit (Grah Gochar) in Vedic Astrology refers to the movement of planets through the zodiac and their influence on human lives. In Hindu astrology, planetary transits are seen as dynamic forces that can bring changes, opportunities, challenges, and transformations based on their position and interaction with an individual’s birth chart (natal chart). The term “Grah Gochar” is derived from Sanskrit, where “Grah” means planet and “Gochar” signifies movement or transit.
In Indian astrology, there are 9 planets which are collectively called Navagrah. Sun and Moon are also considered as planets because earth remains in center of all calculations to find out impact on living things and event happening on earth and while looking from earth, all these 9 planets moves around earth including Sun and Moon. Rahu and Ketu are not physical planets, they are called Chaya Grah. The rotation path of Sun (Earth rotating around Sun) and Moon intersect at 2 points. The point on the north side is called Rahu/North Lunar Node and point on the southern side is called Ketu/South Lunar Node. As these intersection points impact significantly, so they are also considered as planets in Indian astrology.
Pluto and Neptune are other planets but these planets are far away and they take hundreds of years to completed one rotation of earth (while looking from earth), so they are not considered.
The whole universe is divided into 12 Rashi or 27 Nakshatras or 108 Charan/Pad. The Charan or Pad is the smallest and meaningful unit to divide the whole universe, where each pad has a different letter assigned which is also used to name the child born at that time. That’s why 108 number has its own importance as it represent the whole universe.
Key Factors in Analyzing Transits: Astrologers consider several factors when interpreting planetary transits:
- House Activation: Each planet's transit affects the specific house it occupies in the birth chart. For example, the 10th house relates to career, so a planet transiting this house may bring professional changes.
- Aspects and Conjunctions: Transiting planets form aspects with other planets in the natal chart, influencing their combined energy. A conjunction, where two planets occupy the same degree in a sign, often has a significant impact.
- Retrograde Motion: When a planet appears to move backward in its orbit from Earth's perspective, its energy is amplified and introspective.
